BACKGROUND:
Norm Wielsch is the owner and driver for Excel Racing. Norm possesses a Masters Degree in Management, and is a part-time college teacher.
Norm began his racing career in 1980 when he raced in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) Pacific Coast Region, in both GT-2 Ford Pinto and a GT-1 Chevrolet Camaro. Norm has held both SCCA regional and National competition driver’s licenses and an International Motor Sports Association (IMSA) competition license. In 1984, Norm began to race late model stock cars in the NASCAR Winston Racing Series, competing at San Francisco Bay Area dirt and asphalt oval tracks. Norm has many top ten and several top five finishes. Norm stopped racing in 1986 due to family and job responsibilities. Norm is currently racing a Mazda RX-7 in SCCA the RX-7 division. Norm finished 10th in points in just 4 races in 2002.
Norm is seeking financial and/or product sponsorship for the 2006 racing season. Norm has proven to be a reliable, hard-working, individual who will be committed to providing sponsors with the finest advertising package possible.
